When reporter Dahr Jamail left the docks of Fouchon, Louisiana on August 16, the first day of the reopening of shrimp season, he encountered shrimpers returning home on who caught only 12 shrimp and another who caught none when the fisherman report they usually catch hundreds or thousands of pounds of shrimp.

Against Federal Advice Pensacola Beach Opens; Over 400 people sick

Onlookers stare at a huge mass of oil that came ashore on Pensacola Beach on June 23, 2010.

Pensacola Beach, which has been assaulted with heavy oil and tarballs, was re-opened by local officials against the advice of Federal Government. Local residents, trusting the officials who declared the beach safe, are reported to be swimming in an oil sheen with skimmers just feet off the shore.
