Matt Simmons was very well connected to other oil industry insiders and top government officials in charge of regulating the oil industry.
As a result of those connections Matt has blew the whistle on several lies BP and Government where telling to the public.
Matt called the claims that only 5,000 barrels of oil were leaking preposterous and instead conjectured there must be at least a minimum of 120,000 barrels of oil per leaking into the Gulf.
Matt also reported that there were leaks 5 to 7 miles away which were later confirmed by a NOAA report issued by the Thomas Jefferson.
Matt made national headlines by stating BP would go bankrupt because they didn’t have enough money to clean up the Gulf of Mexico as well as making claims that the well integrity and pressures were so high that nothing short of a nuke could close this well.
The untimely death of Matt Simmons combined with his continual use of his US Government connections to blow the whistle on BP and the Government raises the question of whether Matt Simmons died of natural causes or was really assassinated.
The number one suspect for assassinating Matt Simmons is the CIA because under the rule of the Obama administration the CIA now has the ability to add anyone, including American citizens, deemed as threat to national security on what is known as the kill list.
Being placed on the kill list means the CIA can assassinate you anywhere in the world without even having to publicly make a complaint against you.
Certainly the claims being made by Matt Simmons could have been deemed as a threat to National Security as Matt spoke of the apocalyptic consequences of the BP Gulf Oil Spill and those claims just may have earned Matt Simmons a place on the CIA kill list.
So now that we have see that it was indeed possible that Matt Simmons was on the CIA kill list let us the assume that the medical examiner’s report was not faked and Matt Simmons really did die from drowning after having a heart attack.

Can't believe you even lend any credence to some anon guy who calls himself a "scientist" – a "scientist" who can't spell, construct proper sentences and resorts to personal insults – doing so brings you down, Maju; shame.
If there's anything I've learnt from all this, it's to question stories peddled by conspiracists even more than mainstream media.
"Murder is not proven but you certainly cannot dismiss it as easily as you would like. It is not an uncontroversial fact but it has a high likelihood."
All I'll say to that is: Rumsfeld; CIA; Russia; secret weapon plants.
Or: Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush; WMD; Iraq.
I know you're all in "denial" about this, but you're as bad as them.
I am not lending credence to anyone: I am looking at the facts each is providing (you have provided nothing, by the way, just unwarranted denial).
“All I’ll say to that is: Rumsfeld; CIA; Russia; secret weapon plants. Or: Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush; WMD; Iraq”.
Erm, what?! People like you gave credence to Rumsfeld’s propaganda merely because it was the official version. And that’s the key problem: believing what the leaders and the media say at face value. That’s what happened in Germany under the Nazis: normal people just do not want to face the facts when they are uncomfortable, they expect that their leaders know best and will do what is best for them.
What I see is that in this case there are reasons to doubt the official version. That’s all. And Silverado has provided some of the reasons.
In general it is good to doubt official versions systematically but much more when, as in this case, there are facts that do not fit well.
Similarly when the Iraq war propaganda campaign, we were said that our leaders knew something we did not, that they knew best. We were lied and brought to attack illegally and without even a formal war declaration a country that was innocent (but potentially bothersome for some because of their pan-Arabist and secularist leadership). We were brought to almost totally destroy that country and to empower the most dangerous fundamentalist elements in the region such as Iran, Saudia and Israel.
And BP and the other oil companies, which are some of the wealthiest companies on Earth, were part of that conspiration. And you probably believed all that junk at face value… only waking up to reality slowly and against your instinct of credulity. Be honest… at least with yourself, because the easiest one to deceive is always yourself.
I never believed the reasons given for going into Iraq, at any stage.
Still waiting for *evidence* of murder, not just wishful speculation. It's been over a week now and nothing has emerged.
If those surrounding the Matt (i.e., family, pathologist et al) raised suspicions and called for an investigation, I'd be with you 100%.
In the meantime, you should perhaps devote your energy to something with more legs: David Kelly, the British UN weapons inspector who "committed suicide" – I'm sure you're aware of him and recent events.
Essentially: no throughout investigation ever happened, post-mortems are secret and there is various evidence that he could not have died from slitting his wrist (actually a very ineffective method of suicide and, anyhow, there was not enough blood and a close friend claims he was unable to cut even a steak because he was too weak, and it’s most unlikely a person of his age with no previous such attempts would do that).
IMO this case is a clear murder case and, if anything, adds indirect evidence for the possibility of murder happening in the Simmons case too, because it evidences that governments and the like have no scruples when it comes to silencing whistleblowers who denounce their propaganda farces.

NPR is reporting the discovery of oil coating the sea floor as Mr. Simmons had said.
September 10, 2010
Scientists on a research vessel in the Gulf of Mexico are finding a substantial layer of oily sediment stretching for dozens of miles in all directions. Their discovery suggests that a lot of oil from the Deepwater Horizon didn’t simply evaporate or dissipate into the water — it has settled to the seafloor.
The Research Vessel Oceanus sailed on Aug. 21 on a mission to figure out what happened to the more than 4 million barrels of oil that gushed into the water. Onboard, Samantha Joye, a professor in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia, says she suddenly has a pretty good idea about where a lot of it ended up. It’s showing up in samples of the seafloor, between the well site and the coast.
“I’ve collected literally hundreds of sediment cores from the Gulf of Mexico, including around this area. And I’ve never seen anything like this,” she said in an interview via satellite phone from the boat.
Joye describes seeing layers of oily material — in some places more than 2 inches thick — covering the bottom of the seafloor.
“It’s very fluffy and porous. And there are little tar balls in there you can see that look like microscopic cauliflower heads,” she says.
It’s very clearly a fresh layer. Right below it she finds much more typical seafloor mud. And in that layer, she finds recently dead shrimp, worms and other invertebrates.
