California Senate to vote today on historic plastic bag ban

California Senate Set To Vote On Ban On Plastic Bags

California's Senate is expected today to vote on a bill that , if passed, could make the state the first in the nation to ban plastic shopping bags. The bill would ban grocery stores, large pharmacies and retailers such as Target and Walmart that sell food from offering plastic bags beginning in Jan. 2012.

Lab tests confirm that samples collected in the Mississippi Sound contain oil and Corexit used in the BP Gulf Oil Spill. Tests matched actual samples of oil from the Deepwater Horizon well obtained through legal channels within the court system.

8/24/10 Barataria Bay, La. Images all in area of Lat 29,26.2183N Long 89,50.1794W, Continuing the sampling of the gulf coast with Boston Chemical Data, www.labs.pro, accompanied by Strongbear, Brian Moore from Boston Chemical and Boat Captain Al Walker and Tracy Palmisano. Today we were taking several types on samples from the Bay including bottom and top water samples adjacent to oiled shorelines including thick orange oil stirred up from the bay bottom, water column samples from different levels in deeper waters near Four Bayou Pass, more samples of sheen and dispersant related foam, and beach samples from an island I have visited several times about 4 miles east of Grand Isle which has never been cleaned. Lat 29,19.1787N Long 89,50.4223W Pictured here is Brian sampling oil on shore and below surface at "oil island" east of Grand Isle.

New Orleans photographer Jerry Moran and our sampling team has collected samples and taken photos of oil and possible chemical dispersants all over Barataria Bay located in southeastern Louisiana spreading across in Jefferson Parish and Plaquemines Parish.

Kenneth Feinberg has promised the Federal Government take over of the BP Gulf Oil Spill victims claims process would make things easier and smoother but he has now announced that over 93% of the claims have been denied or deferred due to "inadequate documentation".

Earlier it was reported that the live feed from was showing black blobs leaking from BP's Well. Now the Oly ROV 2, August 30, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. shows the of Black blobs from BP Gulf Oil Spill Capping Stack are increasing dramatically as hundreds of bubbles start to shoot out of the stack. This could mean bad news as BP prepares to remove the BOP some time today.

So The Government Wants To Declare Blogging As A Business So They Can Tax Us – I Say Bring It On!

Over 33% of Americans Pay ZERO income taxes. Many Get Paid By The IRS.

Philadelphia is now trying to make bloggers, even those that make as little as $11 or $50 dollars a year, pay taxes and register as a business. I say bring it on because now bloggers can deduct expenses for blogging to reduce their income taxes to absolutely zero!
