New Oil Leak Found In BP Gulf Oil Spill BOP
At 3:26 AM EST on July 19th the underwater robot Skandi Neptune 2 recorded oil leaking from the Blowout Preventer.
Whether the leaks are from the Blowout Preventer itself or are from leaks in the wellbore down hole is still unknown
At first glance it appears the leaks were coming from hoses attached to the Blowout Preventer.
But upon further inspection the leaks seem to be coming from several places.
As you watch the video even long it is clear that at least some of the oil leaking is coming from beneath the field of view of the the camera of the ROV.
That raises the question of whether or not the leak is from the blowout prevent itself of from within the wellbore down hole or possibly even a combination of both.

This is hardly a barrel a day. Before they shut in the well, there was 50k to 70k barrel a day.
In contrast this is hardly a leak any more when put in to perspective.
This will do fine until the well is shut down from the RWs.

What was the source of the ROV films of the leaks from the sea floor? NOAA or BP?

I was flying back to Baltimore from Ft Lauderdale on Saturday July 24th and not only seen oil slicks in the water from 30,000 ft I took photos and it is just heart breaking. I knew the water was cloudy the whole week for more reasons that Bonnie out there. But I got to see it for myself coming up the coast from an airplane.
