Via Florida Oil Spill Law G4 reports that the combination of Oil and Corexit from the BP Gulf Oil Spill is eating through the boat hulls of vessel of opportunity ships contracted by BP to clean up the oil spill and rescues animals caught in the oil slick.

As of 5:01 pm on June 27, 2010, Fox news is reporting a giant oil plume 20 miles off of the coast of Grand Isle LA. It has been described as 32 miles long with fingers that stretch in different directions.
This might be the landfall that will finally wake some people up to what is really going on in the Gulf right now. I have yet to hear of an oil plume of that size in this whole disaster. People are not taking this a serious as it should be. Thank you Alex for giving us the real stories out there.
Sorry to tell you this Kevin, but the time for long on crap, short on substance conspiracy theories s over. We have a serious situation here that is not going away, much to the dismay of the government a BP.
Prison planet and all of that crap is doing nothing for the real problem in the Gulf. I would not be surprised if people like that quack tea Jones are the real plant by the government, detracting attention from the real issue with conspiracy theories.
Fact is we have a gusher in the gulf. It is poisoning our environment and we are being lied to about the serious effects to humans and the ecosystem. Show some actual concrete facts about this supposed "false flag", and it might get traction. Otherwise people must go with what is obvious. We are fucked. I'm fucked, your fucked, the environment is fucked.

There are so many solutions to this spill it isn’t even funny. I had the very simple idea of taking large sections of metal pipe (like the pipe used for the Alaska pipeline) and connecting them together to create a giant chimney so to speak. The Alaska pipeline has a diameter of roughly 10 feet or so? There is no freezing up of anything and the oil and gas just naturally rises to the top where it can be siphoned. I know it’s not a permanent fix but it’s a billion times better than anything they’ve done to date. It’s that simple, damage control. (I also realize stabilizing a pipe that size would be a challenge but it could be done.)
BP and our government are not that stupid. This was done intentionally.

Hey Alex, the thing you see on the boats is very likely the corrosion cased by Hydrogen Sulfide. H2S in high concentration is known for it's highly corrosive behavior towards metal and because of it's higher density than air, it creates a layer of H2S, which the boat is splitting through. Add to it the oil and sea water and you get a toxic combination which can eat through metal layers, not mentioning lungs and kidneys.
Perhaps you should research the United Nations Biosphere and Wildlands Program. It's an interesting read, and this disaster, a most useful tool
