UPDATE: Explosions continue and caused topkill to fail


BP Gulf oil spill junk shot explosions continue, BP officially announces topkill fails.

NOTE: There is not one steady reliable live oil spill feed source. You may need to try all the different options below. I will update that status of each.

UPDATE:

The link to the Live video feed camera of the Gulf oil spill has been added to Rep. Markey’s site at http://globalwarming.house.gov/spillcam However the global warming house.gov spill cam has been down all day. I have only been able to connect to it once for about 2 minutes. It is still down as off 9:30pm eastern.

The bad news is due to the enormous amount of traffic to the site the server has crashed. So check back later.

Update 2:

Status this BP provided direct link to the feed has been down all day. It is still down as of 9:37 pm EST.. I have been able to connect to this feed intermittently for a few minutes at a time and then am disconnected.

Update 3: Huffington Post 10:25pm Est – Huffington Post has switched to a Ustream Feed which is displaying video.

Ok so scratch that. It seems that the Ustream video being played on the Huffington post was only a one hour time delay of the original CNN feed. As off 11:12 PM EST there are no live feeds available
Huffington post has reported that the BP live video feed of the Gulf oil spill has crashed due to immense traffic. A comment on the post said that Weather channel will be posting up to 12 links to the feed.

Status: This feed of the gulf oil spill is working as of 12:47pm EST

Update 6:00pm – The CNN oil spill camera was working. It was up until at 9:54 pm EST at which time the BP live feed was shut off by CNN

Status: The CNN oil slick webcam has been very reliable with very little connectivity issues. This is your best best right now.

UPDATE: PBS Live Feed of Oil Leak Video 10:11 PM with barrel counter

Status: as of 10:00pm EST PSB is also reporting the Live Footage of the leak has gone offline and they are working to provide another source of footage

A great feed source is ustream.com but you need to search for “oil spill” there because the feeds come and go.

Spill Camera Status: These have been working intermittently, some working while others have not. If you have flash your best bet to watch the live BP oil spill video right now is to try the CNN link above. If you only have Windows Media Player then try giving these a shot.

1) Open windows media player.
2) Go to file » Open from Url
3) Past the url and click go.
