Good SEO practice is to have 800-1200 words of text on your web sites home page. Total page size should be restricted to around 20k, while 40k should be the absolute limit. I haven't really had the time to figure out how to do that, altough I am quite sure its a matter of simply checking a checkbox in the control panel some where... You are 100% correct.
